Accessibility Guide
At the SnowDome, we’re committed to making our venue accessible and enjoyable for everyone. This guide outlines the facilities, services and adjustments available to support guests with additional needs, so you can plan your visit with confidence.
Free Carer Tickets
Guests who require support can bring one carer free of charge, with valid supporting documentation. Please present one of the following (dated within the last two years) at reception:
- Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance award letter
- Personal Independence Payment (PIP) letter
- Letter from a GP or consultant confirming the need for a full-time carer
Carer tickets must be booked by phone and cannot be issued without documentation. All other party members, including the guest with the disability, will pay standard ticket prices.
Parking & Arrival
Blue Badge Parking
Designated spaces are available for Blue Badge holders on a first come, first served basis. The badge holder must be present in the vehicle.
- Turn left after entering the car park, spaces are past the hotel.
- A level access route leads around the swimming pool to the front doors, avoiding steps.
Access Inside the Venue
The SnowDome is spread over three levels, with lift access to all areas. Our staff are happy to assist with directions or support where needed.
- All indoor spaces are non-smoking and non-vaping.
- Flooring varies throughout the venue: carpet, non-slip surfaces and snow/ice in activity areas.
The Recreational Standard
To help keep everyone safe and having fun on the slope, SnowDome operates a minimum ability policy known as the recreational standard. This means that to ski or snowboard recreationally (without supervision), you must be able to:
- Use all lifts safely
- Perform controlled linked turns
- Control your speed and direction
- Stop confidently when needed
If you're a confident skier or snowboarder and meet this standard, you’re welcome to enjoy the slope during recreational sessions. If you're new to the sport, or not quite at this level yet, the friendly instructors can help get you there with our range of ski and snowboard lessons. Visit the Ski Lessons or Snowboard Lessons pages to find out more.
